ggTaxi – A Successful Startup Case and How to Raise a Venture Capital in Armenia

YEREVAN, Armenia – The American University of Armenia (AUA) College of Business and Economics (CBE) hosted on November 24 Khachatur Grigoryan, CEO  and Co-Founder of ggTaxi, and Yervand Sargsyan, Co-Founder and Partner of Granatus Ventures. The event was part of CBE’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talk Series (Talk #5).

ggTaxi is an app-based taxi service platform servicing thousands of customers in Armenia. Granatus Ventures has provided seed financing to the company. Grigoryan and Sargsyan introduced the company as one of the fastest growing Armenian successful startups. ggTaxi was established in 2013 and, within a period of two years, has become increasingly popular in Armenia. The speakers noted that one of the main achievements of the platform is that it has changed the way people in Armenia perceive of taxi services.

Grigoryan and Sargsyan presented the company’s successes and achievements and shared their vision and plans for the company’s future expansion in Armenia and the region.

After the presentation, audience members took part in a Q&A session. Questions about the speakers’ professional experience and skills were discussed. The lecture was accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation and real-life examples.
