AUA ACE Co-Organizes “1st International Scientific Conference on Sustainable Solutions to Wastewater Management Maximizing the Impact of Territorial Co-operation”

KAVALA, Greece – From June 18 – 21, 2015, the American University of Armenia (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment (ACE), in partnership with WASTEnet, a Black Sea network promoting natural integrated WAStewater Treatment SystEms within the Joint Operational Programme “Black Sea Basin 2007-2013,” co-organized the 1st International Scientific Conference on Sustainable Solutions to Wastewater Management Maximizing the Impact of Territorial Cooperation.”

The conference aimed to encourage exchange and dissemination of scientific information regarding research, design, operation, management, and economics of Natural Treatment Systems and other low cost Wastewater Treatment Technologies among engineers, planners, educators, and managers. As part of the conference, a presentation was made on the activities carried out by the WASTEnet partnership, especially in the wider Black Sea Basin area.

Representatives from universities (both students and academicians), research institutions, public administrations, and NGOs participated in the conference and stimulated an active discussion.
