AUA Hosts Representatives from Hrant Dink Foundation

YEREVAN, Armenia – On June 12, 2015, the American University of Armenia (AUA) hosted the Hrant Dink Foundation and several of its guest organizations for a study visit. Representatives from Turkey included Yasemin Ulgen from Istanbul Modern, Serdar Dinler from Kadir Has University, Mehmet İlhan from Yildiz Technical University, Dr. Lami Bertan Tokuzlu from Istanbul Bilgi University Law School, and Aylin Vartanyan from Bogazici University. The goal of the visit was to open up a dialogue for possible future collaboration and exchange of ideas between AUA and universities and institutions in Turkey.

The visit included a meeting with AUA President Armen Der Kiureghian, Provost Don Fuller, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Tom Samuelian, Director of Admissions Arina Zohrabian, and Senior Lecturer Vahram Ter-Matevosyan, in which the guests learned about the history of the university, it’s current demographics and programs, and possible future projects.

The focus of the meeting was on creating connections and expanded interest in areas such as human rights, peace education, and cultural/linguistic studies. The visitors were then taken on a tour of the university.
