Discover Armenia with AUA: AUA-UCLA Joint Summer and Study Abroad Programs

2 min read

YEREVAN, Armenia – The American University of Armenia (AUA) is excited to welcome international students to AUA with its Summer Program and Study Abroad AUA. For those looking to enhance their educational experience, these programs combine strong academics with the benefits of a safe, welcoming, and exciting environment.

The Summer Program is perfect for those who wish to visit Armenia for the summer and also earn extra credits at their home university, while Study Abroad AUA is designed for students who wish to study at AUA for a semester or even a year.

Participants can choose from a wide range of courses to match their university academic plans, and because AUA is a U.S. accredited and University of California affiliated institution, students can easily transfer summer credits earned at AUA and apply them toward a degree at another institution.

As AUA students, participants have endless opportunities to take advantage of. Just this past January, AUA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to launch a new AUA-UCLA Summer Intensive Program in Armenian Studies. The program will begin at AUA in Summer 2015 and feature classes on Armenian language, culture, and history.

In addition to the great opportunities on campus, Summer Program and Study Abroad AUA participants can elect to take their educational experience outside the boundaries of Yerevan with Discover Armenia Educational Tours. This series of five day-long excursions allows students to get to know the country and take in all its sights, sounds, and flavors.

AUA is also thrilled to announce that it has partnered with Birthright Armenia, opening up additional opportunities for applicants of Armenian heritage. Students who have been accepted to the Summer Program or Study Abroad AUA and are interested in extending their stay in Armenia as a volunteer can visit Birthright Armenia to learn more about possible travel and homestay living assistance eligibility requirements.

Off-campus dormitories are also available through AUA, featuring fully furnished, newly renovated single, double, and triple rooms. For more information on housing or for general questions about Summer Program and Study Abroad AUA, please contact the Office of Admissions at [email protected].
