YEREVAN, Armenia – On October 17, 2014, the AUA AGBU Papazian Library received a generous donation of $1500 from the Armenian Healthcare Association of the Bay Area (AHABA). The donation will allow the library to fund its 2015 annual subscription to the Health Inter-Network Access to Research Initiative (HINARI), an extensive public health electronic database.

The HINARI database is one of the world’s largest collections of biomedical and health literature, including full text articles on new developments in the area of public health. It provides access to 13,000 medical and health journals, 29,000 e-books, and various databases and electronic reference works.

Library Director, Satenik Avakian, says, “We are extremely delighted to have access to this database. Our faculty and students have made very good use of HINARI and will continue to have access to full text articles on new developments in the area of public health. It is also very important that the library provides web-based databases that allow our students and faculty to conduct their research off-campus.”
