AUA Alumni Share Their Professional Experience with MBA Students

YEREVAN, Armenia –On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, the American University of Armenia (AUA)’s Office of Alumni Relations and Career Development invited two alumni, Narine Badanian (MBA ’96) and Karine Sarkissian (MBA ‘93), as special guests to participate in a discussion for the International Strategic Management course currently offered in AUA’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The discussion centered around the case entitled “Cola Wars Continue: Coke and Pepsi in 2010.”

Badanian, who has experience in both Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company as marketing manager and at Pepsi Company as CEO, and Sarkissian, who works as market manager at Coca-Cola Eurasia Division, spoke about how these large, international companies function using general marketing strategies in the local Armenian market.

Office of Alumni Relations and Career Development Coordinator Narine Petrosyan shares, “It was very interesting not only for students to learn from these accomplished alumni, but also for all of us to hear what students think about the strategic management of these large companies. This group of students and alumni had a very valuable and engaging exchange.”

The mission of the AUA Office of Alumni Relations and Career Development is to develop, coordinate and promote programs for our alumni to keep them connected and involved with AUA and one another, and to create a culture of philanthropy by encouraging alumni to contribute their time, talent, and resources to the advancement of the University.

The Career Development function of the Office of Alumni Relations and Career Development is to contribute to career achievements of AUA graduates through enhancing their job finding skills. Additionally, the AUA Office of Alumni Relations and Career Development aims to provide job placement services to students/alumni and  to develop strong and tangible links between employers and the University, to allow for the Office of Alumni Relations and Career Development to support and assist students and alumni in their professional development.
