Karine Minasyan (MPH ’15), alumna of the American University of Armenia (AUA) Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian School of Public Health (SPH), has been awarded a year-long research scholarship (2017/2018) to conduct the research project entitled “Study of Thyroid Dysfunction in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus” at the Department of Endocrinology, Charité University Hospital (Berlin, Germany).

YEREVAN, Armenia – On May 16-18, 2017, the American University of Armenia (AUA) hosted the final conference of the Tempus PEOPLE (Promoting Educational Organization through People) Project, one of the University’s seven capacity building projects within the EU framework. The conference brought together more than 110 participants, among them human resource managers and specialists from 26 Armenian universities.
On April 1, the San Francisco chapter of the Armenian Cultural Foundation held its annual fundraising event at the Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, California with over 150 people in attendance.
On May 15, Converse Bank organized the German Music Gala Evening in appreciation of the German Bundestag’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide. The event was held in the Mural Hall of the National Gallery of Armenia with His Excellency Mathias Kiesler Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Executive Director of Converse Bank Arthur Hakobyan, and AUA College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) Dean Dr. Thomas Samuelian, and other distinguished guests in attendance.
The aim of the workshop was to examine how university libraries can integrate research into writing courses. The exchange with several American universities across the globe provided AUA staff with new perspectives and knowledge.
