She places high emphasis on how things are mixed and entwined in a complicated and beautiful way mainly as a result of globalization. \nArtist Bio: \nAs our world becomes more globalized\, we find ourselves caught in tension between cultures\, languages\, thoughts\, and ways of life. My entire life has been lived in this tension\, being Armenian-American\, and growing up between South America\, Russia\, and California. I have had to navigate and become familiar with the tension that comes when conflicting cultures and traditions are asked to live together. It is seen in how we as humans speak\, talk\, love\, create\, worship and ultimately\, see and understand ourselves\, others\, and the world around us. I am interested in how\, when conflicting ideas and cultures live together\, the resulting tension has the power to both create and distort beauty simultaneously. My work explores and focuses on the tension\, chaos\, and new ideas that are created when we pull and borrow from cultures resulting in images that are reminiscent\, but at the same time foreign. In order to have some precise measurements\, masts have been erected\, but their low flexibility and constraints made industries and scientists develop remote sensing for wind vertical measurements. Sodar with sounds\, and now\, with a Laser light (Lidar)\, allowing full scope of measurements with precision\, high flexibility and reliability\, is nowadays the state of the art of remote sensing. \nAbout the Speaker: \nRégis Robert Danielian got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from Sorbonne University. In 2003 he received a Marie Curie Fellowship grant in order to participate in the development of the first industrial Lidar for Wind Energy Industry in Denmark. Since 2007 he has worked in a large printer industry in Austria.\n  \nLanguage: English URL:https://newsroom.aua.am/event/lidar-technology-for-accurate-wind-resource-monitoring-and-assessment/ LOCATION:307E\, Paramaz Avedisian Building CATEGORIES:Events Calendar,Science & Engineering ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://newsroom.aua.am/files/2018/09/Lidar_Tech_FB.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Yerevan:20181003T173000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Yerevan:20181003T190000 DTSTAMP:20240329T185044 CREATED:20180928T103039Z LAST-MODIFIED:20180928T103039Z UID:27334-1538587800-1538593200@newsroom.aua.am SUMMARY:The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) DESCRIPTION:About the Event: \nThe Technology Transfer Office (TTO) encompasses different kinds of organizational structures whose common core role is to assist public research organizations (PROs) in managing their intellectual assets in ways that facilitate their transformation into benefits for society. In doing this\, the TTO helps to bridge the gap between research and innovation.\nThe talk will cover the following issues: \n\nIntroduction: Licensing\, definitions and terms; Role of the TTO; Knowledge transfer from PROs and transfer channels in which TTOs;\nMotivations and interests including the innovation paradox\, a new rationale and new challenges;\nResources: Organizational models and funding;\nInteractions: the PRO community and Industry\, business and community actors;\nEvaluation and Policy Intervention:; Step-by-step: implementation\n\nAbout the Speaker: \nDr. Milly Perry is an expert and consultant for innovation and R&D. She is a former Research director at The Open University of Israel and CEO of its TTO Company. Her first PhD. in Information science specialized in KM in Higher Education and Technology Transfer and Innovation Management (Post.Doc). Dr. Perry established the “aKadeMya” forum\, a community of practice for managers and scholars implementing Knowledge Management in Higher education (sponsored by Microsoft Israel).  Dr. Perry was a Member of the National Committee for Israeli’s Researchers Database\, a board member at ERAMA ‒ The European Association for research administration\, and an active expert at the EC ERC-PoC and OECD\, and a Blockchain entrepreneur and evangelist. \nLanguage: English URL:https://newsroom.aua.am/event/the-technology-transfer-office-tto/ LOCATION:Small Auditorium\, 5th Floor\, 516M \, AUA Main Building\, 40 Marshal Baghramyan Ave\, Yerevan\, Armenia CATEGORIES:Events Calendar,Legal Studies ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://newsroom.aua.am/files/2018/09/LLM_TTO_FB.png ORGANIZER;CN="LL.M.
