Three-day Introductory Workshop VALUING STRATEGY

Valuation of operating assets is as much a financial as a strategic assessment exercise. The valuation process may have multiple objectives, and establishing the fair price for the company is seldom the most important one. If carried out correctly, valuation sheds light on the key competitive advantages of the firm, crucial assets and the business strategy. Taking this a step further, the valuation exercise can assess relative merits of different business strategies, i.e. valuing strategy becomes the most important objective.

The course will focus on applied valuation only; all information used will be up-to-date and company valuations will be built on factual real-life cases. Multiple business strategies will be discussed from the US, European and Armenian business environments.

Taron Ganjalyan is the Chief Executive Officer of Inecobank. Prior to his current position, he had a career in global capital markets, first as a fund manager of a number of mutual funds, long-short portfolios and pension assets across multiple asset classes, instruments and regions, most recently at Shell Asset Management Company (SAMCo) – the Asset Manager of Shell pension funds globally, and later as a founder and managing director of LINKS Analytics, a leading Netherlands-based risk management firm. Taron Ganjalyan advises the largest pension funds and insurance companies in the world on systemic risks and asset allocation and is a frequent speaker at global institutional investment events. Taron started his career in commercial banking and advisory in Eastern Europe and Middle East and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree from London Business School and an MA degree in Economics from the Central European University.
