Text Mining with Python

0727693-1The AUA Data Science center is organizing a 2-hour workshop on the topic “Text mining and Sentiment analysis using Python.” Text Mining is the sub-division of Data Mining and focuses on knowledge extraction from unstructured data. It combines notions and techniques from different disciplines such as Information Retrieval, Linguistics, Machine Learning, etc. In this lecture we are going to focus on one particular application, that is, Sentiment Analysis.
The lecture is open to public.

Requirements: Basic skills and knowledge of Python. Please bring your laptop with you with the following installed: Python 2.7, Scikit-Learn, IPython, Numpy, Pandas. Here is a good option to set it up fast: http://datasciencetoolbox.org/.

About the speaker: Vahe Hakobyan is a graduate of Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, and currently holds the position of Data Scientist in Picsart.
