Lidar Technology for Accurate Wind Resource Monitoring and Assessment

October 3, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm +04

About the Event:

Wind sitting is the key point of wind energy industry, with the power production directly proportional to the wind speed, the vertical profile remains critical. In order to have some precise measurements, masts have been erected, but their low flexibility and constraints made industries and scientists develop remote sensing for wind vertical measurements. Sodar with sounds, and now, with a Laser light (Lidar), allowing full scope of measurements with precision, high flexibility and reliability, is nowadays the state of the art of remote sensing.

About the Speaker:

Régis Robert Danielian got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from Sorbonne University. In 2003 he received a Marie Curie Fellowship grant in order to participate in the development of the first industrial Lidar for Wind Energy Industry in Denmark. Since 2007 he has worked in a large printer industry in Austria.
