The topic of leadership has been assessed and debated for years\, but only recently has the business world taken a deeper interest on how great leaders are relevant to lead organizations towards greater success\, regardless of the internal and external challenges such as market fluctuations\, shareholder demands\, and incessant changes of technology. \nOrganizations today primarily struggle with employee engagement\, productivity and innovation which are affected by the organization’s culture and environment. To have a healthy work culture and environment\, the organization must depend on inspirational and positive leaders who care for their employees\, not just the bottom line. \nRalph Yirikian will touch upon some of the key facets relevant to leadership today\, namely sharing his success stories and lessons on how he led VivaCell-MTS to be the leading mobile operator in Armenia’s market today. \nAbout the Speaker: \nRalph Yirikian is the General Manager of VivaCell-MTS\, Armenia\, leading telecommunications operator and one of the top taxpayers\, since 2005. Thanks to Yirikian\, the Company has become popular not only as a telecommunications operator with the largest market share\, or as an innovations leader (being the first operator to have launched 4G/LTE)\, but also as a corporate entity managing unprecedentedly large funds to help improve the most vulnerable areas of life in Armenia. \nIn this respect\, the role of Ralph Yirikian in Armenia is notable in that he was the first Armenian CEO to introduce and promote the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an essential part of corporate behavior. Since the first day of its operation\, the Company has been making considerable social investments (over AMD 28 billion) in the implementation of innovative projects in areas such as Information and Communication Technologies\, healthcare\, culture\, science\, children & the youth\, environmental protection\, sports\, education\, and rural infrastructure. \nUnder the guidance of Yirikian\, VivaCell-MTS has dramatically changed the market of mobile communications in Armenia. The Company today has over 1\,200 employees\, 29 of which are people with disabilities. Thanks to the launch of LTE in Armenia in 2010\, the country has managed to join a limited number of other countries that possess a 4G/LTE network. Following the success of ensuring the largest 3.5G network in Armenia (and covering over 96 percent of Armenia’s populated areas)\, VivaCell-MTS’s LTE network will soon become available to the entire population of Armenia. \nPrior to his role in VivaCell-MTS\, Ralph Yirikian was General Manager of Karabakh Telecom in Artsakh; Head of the Administrative Unit of LibanCell in Lebanon; Head of the Administration and Customer Service Department at Nasser\, Ghattas and Co\, in Cyprus; Head of the Administration and Personnel Department at Al Maha Group Holdings in Qatar; Assistant Management Consultant with Nasser\, Ghattas and Co\, in Cyprus\, and; Computer Operator with the Lebanese George Matta Establishment. \nLanguage: English URL:https://newsroom.aua.am/event/leadership/ LOCATION:Alex and Marie Manoogian Hall\, PAB\, 40 Marshal Baghramyan Ave\, Yerevan\, Armenia CATEGORIES:Business & Economics,Events Calendar ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://newsroom.aua.am/files/2018/03/AUA_CBE_RY_FB.png ORGANIZER;CN="Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics (CBE)":MAILTO:info@aua.am, cbeoffice@aua.am END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
