How Journalists Think: Tips for Getting the Media Interested in Your Public Health Research by Kent Garber, MD, MPH

About the Speaker:

Kent Garber is a former journalist and physician. He graduated from Yale University in 2007 with a BA in linguistics. From 2007-2010 he was staff reporter for U.S. News & World Report, a newsmagazine based in Washington, D.C., covering health policy and politics. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School in 2014 and his Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2017. He is currently a general surgery resident at University of California, Los Angeles; an associate in the international health department at Johns Hopkins; and a consultant for the World Bank’s Middle East and North Africa health team, focusing on health systems in fragile and conflict-affected states. He has conducted public health and policy research in Nagorno-Karabagh, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, among other countries.
