AUA’s MA TEFL Program Collaborates with Local Universities for the Second Annual Student Research Conference

The American University of Armenia (AUA) hosted the Second Annual Student Research Conference. Over 60 students, faculty, and other in-service professionals attended the conference. The program featured 24 papers and posters in the fields of linguistics and applied linguistics presented by graduate students and recent alumni from AUA, the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University, and Yerevan State University.

AUA MPH Alumna and lead author Lilit Hovhannisyan, MD, MPH (2011) and her coauthors Anahit Demirchyan, MD, MPH (1999), Senior Research Specialist with the AUA School of Public Health and Varduhi Petrosyan, Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the School, reported in their article Estimated Prevalence and Predictors of Undernutrition among Children Aged 5-17 Months in Yerevan, Armenia that about one-fifth (20.5%) of the 5-17 month-old children in Yerevan were undernourished.

On April 27, the American University of Armenia’s (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment (ACE) joined with Storaket Architectural Studio and Ayb Educational Foundation in organizing a workshop focused on developing a green concept plan for expanding the Yerevan campus of the Ayb Educational Hub.
