2 min read

The American University of Armenia (AUA) Bachelor of Arts in Business (BAB) junior students Ilona Poghosyan, Anna Arakelyan, and Larisa Hovhannisyan spent their spring 2019 semester at Cadiz University, Spain, as Erasmus+ exchange students. Since they have changed their learning environment, it is always fascinating to learn more about their experience away from AUA and discover students’ impressions of both universities.

When applying to the Erasmus+ exchange program, these students were happy to see an opportunity to study at the University of Cádiz. The three friends applied and were excited to be accepted at the same time. They characterize this phase of their educational experience as life-changing. Living abroad in a new cultural setting and learning from a different perspective is something they will never forget.

The students reflected on their experiences abroad. Thanks to AUA’s well-structured educational system, they did not face any difficulties or challenges while studying at Cadiz. Equipped with the educational culture AUA imparts and the values that are bound to promote teamwork, cooperation, compassion, and tolerance, they were able to reach fruitful outcomes in their new learning environment and advance themselves both personally and professionally. “It does not just feel this way: it is true. We do come back different. We do grow during the exchange,” notes one of the students.

Apart from enjoying the learning process and gaining new knowledge and skills, these BAB students became a part of the international Erasmus+ community and had the opportunity to network with students from different countries and with diverse cultural backgrounds. They return to AUA full of energy and excitement to apply the knowledge and skills gained at Cadiz in their fields of expertise.
