ANCA Cites ASHA’s Support of AUA in US Congress

WASHINGTON, DC – On February 28, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Government Affairs Director Raffi Karakashian submitted a congressional testimony to the Senate Appropriation Subcommittee on State-Foreign Operations in the United States Congress. In the testimony, Karakashian praised the subcommittee, saying, “We commend the Subcommittee’s commitment to American Schools and Hospitals Abroad, which continues to provide vital support for the American University of Armenia and the Armenian American Wellness Center.”

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through American Schools and Hospitals Abroad, has provided over $13 million in support to AUA since its founding. In addition to many large projects at AUA that have been realized through the aid provided, the ongoing construction of student and faculty centers on the campus [link to article about this] are thanks to funds received by ASHA.
