Higher Education in Armenia Becomes Even More Affordable; the Joint Program of the American University of Armenia and Byblos Bank Armenia has Launched
2 min readByblos Bank Armenia CJSC and the American University of Armenia (AUA) are cooperating within the framework of a new loan program, which will make higher education even more available and affordable. The students who study master’s programs at AUA and need financial support, can pay their tuition using the affordable loan offer.
The program aims to finance the tuition in the amount of 80% with only 5% annual interest rate and an opportunity to pay the loan within a grace period. Throughout the duration of the students’ studies and the following six months, only the interest rate is to be paid, the principal and the additional percentages need to be paid within the next thirty months. The available loan offer is provided only to the students who study master’s programs at AUA and need financial support.
The chief executive officer of Byblos Bank Armenia, Hayk Stepanyan, notes: “The field of education has always been in the center of attention for Byblos Bank. This joint program with the American University of Armenia will help more students receive a quality education, discover their potential, and find their unique spot in the labor market. Moreover, the bank has also been providing scholarships to AUA students since 2017. We hope that our partnership with the University will contribute to the development and the well-being of our society.”
Students will get a loan with privileged conditions in Armenian drams, and with the guarantee of two people in case they provide an adequate credit history.
The president of AUA, Dr. Armen Der-Kiureghian, states: “The means spent on quality education may become the most profitable investment in the life of a person. Thanks to the education received at the American University of Armenia, the demand of our alumni in the labor market and the trust that the alumni, with the help of their job, will be able to perform the loan duties, is incomparably growing. With this partnership, the University is taking another step in making the education available to those in financial need. We are certain that many students will use this exceptional opportunity.”
