AUA and YSU Collaborate to Host the Fourth Summer School of Mathematics and Applications

YEREVAN, Armenia – From June 27- July 4, the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics at Yerevan State University (YSU), in collaboration with the Zaven & Sonia Akian College of Science & Engineering (CSE) of the American University of Armenia (AUA), held the Fourth Summer School of Mathematics and Applications at YSU’s guesthouse, Hamalsaran, located in Tsaghkadzor.

The summer school provides opportunities for students to enhance their interest in math. Approximately 100 students from various high schools and both universities participated.

All of the lectures were conducted in English, Russian or Armenian. Many other activities were also organized – plenary lectures, seminars, and a Math Olympiad. All activities were led by local and international professors.

“We hope that this program stimulated curiosity and laid a strong foundation for future work in mathematics,” said Hayk Nersisyan, Assistant Professor and Program Chair of the Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at AUA.
