The Manoogian Simone College of Business & Economics (CBE) is pleased to announce that within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Mobility Partnership, American University of Armenia (AUA) Business students Neli Davtyan, Vanine Ghumushyan, Nensi Hakobjanyan, and Shushanna Arakelyan were given the opportunity to study a semester abroad at the University of Murcia, one of Spain’s largest universities.

The AUA-University of Murcia collaboration was established as part of the Erasmus+ Mobility program, which aims to foster student, faculty, and staff exchanges. The program is not only an opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices but also a chance for students to spend a few months abroad where students are exposed to multiculturalism and a broader range of diversity.

As part of the partnership, the CBE will send its own Dr. Vardan Baghdasaryan to teach Economics at the University of Murcia in Fall 2017. In addition, Anahit Sargsyan will visit the University this summer and share her experience on internship program management with her counterparts. Similarly, the CBE will host faculty and staff from the University of Murcia.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the CBE has also established a cooperative and productive relationship with Audencia Business School in France, which holds the “triple crown” accreditation from the most sought-after international accreditations: Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of Master of Business Administration (AMBA), European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

Ani Keshishyan and Lilit Ohanyan from the BA in Business (BAB) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs respectively have already begun their spring semester studies at Audencia Business School. Dr. Knar Khachatryan, BAB Program Chair, has been invited to the School with the aim of exchanging experience and ideas with Audencia Business School’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Chair on program goals, curriculum, career services, faculty training and mentoring mechanisms, as well as student learning assessment, capstone and other program-related specifics. In June 2017, the School will host another the CBE representative, Dr. Mane Beglaryan, who will teach Management of Human Resources. The CBE in its turn has welcomed Dr. Emma Avetisyan from Audencia this past February where she co-taught the Introduction to Competitive Strategy course to full-time MBA students.

Lastly, the University of Cádiz in Spain is yet another partner of AUA. This University has received BAB student Lusine Snkhchyan for the Spring 2017 semester. Upon hosting Dr. Marc Labie of the University of Mons (UMONS) last year, Belgium was added to the list of partner countries.

While continuing to strengthen already established ties with the aforementioned European universities, the CBE continues to create more opportunities for its students, faculty, and staff to broadening the scope of the cooperation.

Founded in 1991, the American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private, independent university located in Yerevan, Armenia and affiliated with the University of California. AUA provides a global education in Armenia and the region, offering high-quality, graduate and undergraduate studies, encouraging civic engagement, and promoting public service and democratic values.
