IESM Demo Day – How to Create and Successfully Manage a Competitive Business

YEREVAN, Armenia – On March 29th, the American University of Armenia (AUA) College of Science & Engineering (CSE) Industrial Engineering and System Management program (IESM) organized the 2nd Demo Day. The event was for those who were interested in how to create a competitive business and successfully manage innovative projects, supply chain, operations, production systems, quality, risks, and team building. The IESM program plans on hosting more in the future.

The Demo Day aimed to educate students and the public about the value of IESM studies in Armenia. Financial Aid Coordinator Margarita Sahakyan discussed scholarships and financial aid information with prospective students, and AUA Alumna Ashtghik Kocharyan gave a presentation about her overall experience during and after the IESM program, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Faculty members presented the minor programs in business, energy, computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM). The participants visited the Solar Monitoring Station to observe the solar panels on the roof of AUA.

The speakers were Lecturer, IESM Program Chair, and Director of the CAD/CAM Laboratory Sargis Zeytunyan, Operations Manager of the EPIC Aram Keryan, Adjunct Lecturer Gagik Gabrielyan, and Assistant Professor, Associate Director, and the Engineering Research Center’s Artak Hambaryan.
