AUA’s College of Science and Engineering Offers a Workshop on Text Mining With Python

YEREVAN, Armenia – The AUA Data Science Initiative organized a two-hour workshop on November 28 on the topic of “Text Mining and Sentiment Analysis Using Python.” Vahe Hakobyan, a graduate of Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, Germany who currently holds a position as Data Scientist with Monitis, an IT solutions company, led the workshop.

Text mining is a sub-division of data mining and focuses on knowledge extraction from unstructured data. It combines notions and techniques from different disciplines, such as information retrieval, linguistics, machine learning, and other disciplines. The focus of the workshop was on one particular application—sentiment analysis.
