AUA Honors Alice Navasargian for Endowment Gift with Renaming of Student Lounge

< 1 min read

YEREVAN, Armenia – On October 11, 2014, the American University of Armenia (AUA) introduced the newly assigned Navasargian Lounge. The renaming of the student lounge is in honor of Alice Navasargian, an Armenian American writer, and her family, who, in June 2014, pledged a $100,000 endowment gift to the university in honor of her late husband, Mr. Edward Navasargian. A plaque is displayed in the lounge in honor of this generous gift.

The ceremony took place during the 7th International Conference of the Armenian International Women’s Association (AIWA), which was being held at AUA’s Manoogian Hall. The conference, themed, “Armenian Women in Action: Building Communities around the Globe,” was organized in association with the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and AUA. AUA President Dr. Armen Der Kiureghian toasted to the Navasargian family and welcomed all students to enjoy the comfortable space and the stunning views of Mount Ararat.
