AUA Law Students Head to Jerusalem for Summer Program at Hebrew University

ilpJERUSALEM, Israel – On June 1, 2014, ten students from the American University of Armenia (AUA)’s Law program traveled to Hebrew University (HU) in Jerusalem, Israel to participate in the Summer Program for International Lawyers and Students of Law. Ten full fellowships were offered to AUA students, arranged by HU Law faculty through the Friends of Hebrew University in LA and the Dream Fund.

Dean of AUA’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences Dr. Thomas J. Samuelian explains, “This is the first time AUA has had such a program with Hebrew University, which is one of the top higher education centers in the world. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students and we hope that it will lead to more regular exchanges and cooperation between our programs and universities.”

The three-week summer program gives students AUA students the chance to meet students from around the world, to discuss international law from different perspectives, and to become familiar with the rich historical heritage of Jerusalem, including the Armenian presence that has been there since the early Christian era, spanning nearly 2000 years.
