YEREVAN – On Monday, October 14, 2013, the American University of Armenia (AUA) and the State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding confirming future cooperation in projects, research, seminars, and conferences.

The memorandum was signed by AUA President Dr. Bruce M. Boghosian and Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Mr. Gagik Khachatryan.

The collaboration between AUA and the SRC will include a series of training programs on the topics of tax policy and administration, customs policy and administration, business management, economics, industrial engineering and systems management, information and communication technologies, environmental fiscal liabilities, and environmental tax liabilities. The purpose of these trainings is to promote management practices relevant to current demands and to increase compliance with tax revenue protocols.

AUA and the SRC also plan to conduct research in a variety of fields related to tax policy and administration. The research, to be conducted by teams composed of experts and students from AUA and the SRC Educational Center, will be presented at joint seminars and conferences.

Dr. Boghosian says, “This is one activity of a number that AUA has tried to engage in over the past two years to increase our cooperation with the Armenian government, with other universities in Armenia, and with other public institutions. We are delighted to be entering into this agreement.”
